What Is A Line: Video Compression Experiment

Video Artist Ontologist - Canzona - I'm Sitting in A Video Room 1-1000
Chicago based musician and video artists took one video of himself and uploaded and downloaded this same video to youtube 1000 and documented the process of distortion that takes places when each video is compressed removing all human qualities from the video. The experiment proves very interesting in that the final video resembles a blur of colour and incoherent sound and drastic change from the original video. This experiment aims to highlight the gap we share between our real world and the digital world a concept I want to convey within my own, the digital has no perception of our world only what we tell it, the digital is a representation of what we see, how far can it be pushed until this representation becomes completely unreminiscent of the original subject.
